What You Can Expect At Your First Chiropractic Visit

Effective chiropractic care begins by building a solid foundation. This just means that certain things must be addressed in a certain order for your body to work and align correctly. For effective chiropractic care, your body must receive a certain plan of care to repair itself effectively. We typically categorize chiropractic care into three unique phases, which we’ll discuss below:

  • Relief Care – If you have immediate pain that needs to be addressed, the primary goal is obviously for you to feel better. Our patients that come to our wellness center for pain relief typically need 2-3 sessions each week for 4-12 weeks to achieve optimum results.
  • Corrective or Restorative Care – In the corrective stage of chiropractic care, muscles and tissues are typically allowed to heal for a longer period of time. Patients typically need care 4-8 times each month for a period of between 6-24 months depending on the level of your problem.
  • Wellness Care – After the body has healed through relief and restorative care, it’s important to have routine chiropractic adjustments to avoid future problems. We recommend a visit with Dr. Ruf 1-4 times each month depending on your lifestyle and budget.
